Ofsted success for East Borough

Valley Invicta Primary School at East Borough is celebrating a highly successful Ofsted inspection, with inspectors recognising the school’s many strengths and the exceptional experiences provided for pupils. The inspection marks the first Ofsted inspection for Valley Invicta Academies Trust under the new inspection framework, making the outcome an especially significant achievement for the school and the wider trust. The report praised the school’s ‘remarkable consistency of highly inclusive teaching’ and described pupils’ behaviour as ‘exemplary’. Inspectors highlighted the school’s warm and inclusive culture, where pupils are ‘polite, respectful and have overwhelmingly positive attitudes to learning.’ Inspectors were particularly impressed by the school’s commitment to inclusion and support for pupils with SEND, noting that the specially resourced provision is ‘an integral and well-integrated part of the school community’. The report also celebrated the school’s ambitious curriculum, strong phonics provision and excellent early years practice, where children are said to get off to ‘a flying start’. Leadership was another key strength identified during the inspection. Ofsted recognised that, despite being only in its second year together, the leadership team has ‘already achieved a lot’, with leaders demonstrating ‘conviction and purpose’ and maintaining a relentless focus on improving outcomes for all pupils. The report also highlighted the school’s strong relationships with families and its rich programme of wider opportunities, including sports, music, trips and community events that broaden pupils’ experiences and horizons. CEO at Valley Invicta Academies Trust, Richard Hayden, said: ‘This wonderful outcome reflects the dedication of staff, pupils and families across the whole school community. The inspection recognises not only the high standards achieved academically, but also the caring, inclusive ethos that lies at the heart of Valley Invicta Primary School at East Borough. Congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement.’ You can read the full report here.
